We're Zach and Andrea, a husband-and-wife team making soap by hand in Greenville, SC. Traditional Soap. Modern Standard. Here are the questions we hear most.

Why tallow?

Tallow is one of the oldest soapmaking fats there is. We use it because it makes a hard, long-lasting bar, the way soap was made before factories took over. We pair it with coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, shea butter and beeswax.

Is there lye in your soap?

All true soap starts with lye (sodium hydroxide). It reacts with the oils and fats in a process called saponification, and that reaction is what turns them into soap. Our bars then cure for 8 weeks.

Is your soap OK for sensitive skin?

We can't say how any soap will work for your skin. Here's every ingredient so you can decide for yourself. The Heritage Bar contains: Tallow, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Sodium Hydroxide (Lye), Milk, Colloidal Oatmeal, and Essential Oils (Sweet Orange, Lavender, Cedarwood). Rugged Coast contains: Tallow, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Sodium Hydroxide (Lye), Milk, Essential Oils (Cedarwood, Siberian Fir, Lavender, Sweet Orange, Haitian Vetiver). If you have skin concerns or allergies, try a patch test first and talk with your doctor. Our 1 oz cuts are an easy way to try a scent. Customers tell us the Heritage Bar lathers well and leaves your skin feeling soft and clean.

What scents do you make?

The Heritage: sweet orange, lavender, cedarwood. Rugged Coast: cedarwood, Siberian fir, sweet orange, lavender, Haitian vetiver.

How fast do you ship?

Every order is packed by hand in Greenville, SC and ships within 1–3 business days. We ship via USPS (Ground Advantage, about 2–5 business days, or Priority Mail, about 1–3 business days, after shipment). You'll get a tracking number by email.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes, on orders over $25.

Do you offer bulk ordering?

Yes. The minimum order is 100 bars at $10 per bar, and every order is made to order. See our Bulk Orders page.

What is Subscribe & Save?

How long does a bar last?

According to customer feedback, a bar lasts about a month. Keep it dry between uses.
